Tempe, Ariz. – Farrington Softball Stadium

TEMPE, Ariz. — Nevada opened the Littlewood Classic with a strong offensive showing and a standout pitching performance, splitting its Friday doubleheader at Farrington Stadium.

Nevada moves to 4–3 on the season and continues tournament play Saturday, February 14 with matchups against Indiana at 9 a.m. PT and Pacific at 2:30 p.m. PT.

Nevada 6, Portland State 1
The Pack started the day with a 6–1 win over Portland State behind Tess Bumiller, allowing just three hits and one run with four strikeouts. Hannah DiGenova powered the offense with two home runs, one in the first inning and another in the third, finishing with three RBIs. Nevada totaled nine hits, including doubles from Talia Tretton, Lexi O'Gorman, and Maya Larsen, while Madison Clark added a stolen base.

No. 22 Arizona State 7, Nevada 6
In the second game of the day, Nevada came out firing against No. 22 Arizona State, scoring four runs in the opening frame and collecting 11 hits in a narrow 7–6 setback. Madison Clark sparked the offense with two hits and two runs scored, while O'Gorman drove in two. Saige Alfaro, Haylee Engelbrecht, and Karolyn Glover each doubled as the Pack pressured the Sun Devils throughout.

Defensive errors cost the Wolf Pack in the bottom of the fifth. Saige Alfaro's error at second base allowed the Sun Devils to get two on with none out, then Kaylee Pond's single into center field went through Madison Clark's legs, allowing pinch-runner Corie Shull and Ashleigh Mejia to come around to tie the game at 6-6. Pond, who advanced to third on the error, scored the eventual winning run on an infield single by JazMarie Roberts.

Kenzie Brown pitched the final two innings for Arizona State, retiring all six Wolf Pack batters she faced.
