LAS VEGAS -Â Nevada guard
Sierra Chambers was named to the Preseason All-Mountain West Women's Basketball Team Wednesday, as the 2026-27 Old Trapper Mountain West Media Day tipped off at the Palms Casino and Resort in Las Vegas.
She becomes the first Wolf Pack player to be honored on the conference's preseason team since Nevada joined the Mountain West in 2012-13. She's only the third Wolf Pack player to earn recognition in the preseason announcement, following Kylie Jimenez (2021-22 Preseason Newcomer of the Year) and Stephanie Schmid (2015-16 Preseason Co-Newcomer of the Year).
Chambers is a junior transfer from Southern Utah who was named to the All-WAC Second Team last season. Hailing from Danville, California, Chambers averaged 14.8 points and 3.8 assists per game while starting all 32 games and playing a WAC-high 35.2 minutes per game in 2025-26. Over two seasons in Cedar City, Chambers scored 592 points (9.2 ppg) with 152 assists (2.45 apg) and played 25.9 minutes a game over 62 contests (33 starts).
The Wolf Pack is represented at Media Day by first-year head coach
Kelly Sopak, Chambers and sophomore post
Alexis Swillis. The trio will be featured on the Mountain West Media Day Live Show from 9:20-9:40 a.m. on MW+.
