RENO, Nev. - Nevada led from start to finish against UNLV to claim an 89-76 victory on Friday evening at Lawlor Events Center.
Corey Camper Jr. (32 points and 4 rebounds) and
Elijah Price (22 points and 11 rebounds) set a new career high to lead the Pack offense.
Vaughn Weems also made his impact with nine points and four rebounds.
Tayshawn Comer set the pace in the backcourt with eight assists.
As a team, the Pack shot 58 percent from the field, 57 percent from three, and 74 percent from the line. Camper Jr. led the defense with 3 steals, and was followed by Weems with two.
The Pack dominated the paint, 36-24, and forced the Runnin' Rebels into 10 turnovers and scored 19 points from them.
Nevada continues to be efficient with the ball, after recording seven turnovers.
First Half:
The Pack started off strong with a 9-0 run.
Nevada continued with a strong performance to put a 13-point lead against the Runnin' Rebels.
UNLV responded by cutting the deficit to five points, but Nevada maintained a 33-28 lead as the half closed.
Corey Camper Jr. led the team with 14 points and two rebounds.
Second Half:
Nevada continued to dominate the Runnin' Rebels, extending their lead to 19 points.
The Pack built its largest lead of the night at the 5-minute mark, stretching the advantage to 21 points with an 80–59 score.
UNLV cut the deficit to 13 points, but was unable to respond as Nevada secured a 89-76 dominant win.
