RENO, Nev. - Nevada wins, 66-60, in an overtime thriller against Grand Canyon on Tuesday night at Lawlor Events Center.
The Pack offense was led by
Chuck Bailey III with 18 points and four rebounds. Bailey III was followed by
Tyler Rolison with 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Both players came off the bench to help Nevada dominate points off the bench, 41-2.
Rolison was a key player, knocking down all three free throws to send the game to overtime. He also made his impact on defensive end, leading the team with 3 steals.
As a team, Nevada shot 33 percent from the field, 41 percent from three, and 65 percent from the line.
Elijah Price and
Corey Camper Jr. led the board game with six rebounds apiece.
First Half:
Nevada started off slow with Grand Canyon opening up with a 6-2 lead going into the first media.
The Pack went on an 8-0 run to close the gap to a 15-10 score.
The Lopes kept control of the game with a seven-point lead, but the Pack did not back down.
Nevada went on a 6-0 run to take the lead and ended the half up 26-24.
Second Half:
Nevada and Grand Canyon kept battling to start the second half.
The Lopes went on a 7-0 run to grow the lead to 50-42.
The Pack continued to fight despite being down 52-43.
Tayshawn Comer and
Peyton White knocked down three's to bring the game within 3 points.
Tyler Rolison drew a foul with 0.8 seconds left and calmly made all three free throws to force overtime.
Overtime:
The Pack kept the momentum going, outscoring the Lopes 13-7 to win the game 66-60 in Lawlor Events Center.
