RENO, Nev. — The Nevada Women's Soccer team opened Mountain West Conference play Thursday night at Mackay Stadium, falling 3-0 to visiting Fresno State.
All three of the Bulldogs' goals came in the first half, as Fresno State capitalized on early opportunities to build a commanding lead. Despite the deficit, the Wolf Pack regrouped after halftime and battled to shift the momentum, generating several attacking chances and tightening up defensively.
Nevada's second-half effort showcased resilience and urgency, with midfielders pushing forward and the back line holding firm to keep the Bulldogs off the scoreboard for the remainder of the match.
Nevada returns to Mackay Stadium on Sunday for its Senior Day match up against San Jose State, honoring the program's graduating student-athletes.
