Again this season, the College Football Playoff Foundation's Board has approved continuing the Conference Grant program. Through the program, each Mountain West institution
will receive $11,000 in funds to distribute to teachers in their local communities.
At Saturday's game, Nevada will honor the recipient of the $5,000 donation along with six recipients of individual $1,000 gifts.
Last year, Cold Springs Middle School was selected as the winner of the $5,000 donation. The funds were gifted to Ms. Smith and Ms. Schiwart, who oversaw Cold Springs' music department, and helped repair and purchase instruments for both the band and orchestra to use. Overall, the funding positively affected nearly 400 students.
Additionally, Amanda Pippin, assistant principal at O'Brien Middle School, was selected as the recipient of the $1,000 donation for the continued build-up of student programming.
