Nevada will host the first Mountain West championship event of the 2026-27 season on Friday, Oct. 30, welcoming the conference's cross country programs to Reno for the 2026 Mountain West Cross Country Championships.

The championship marks the second time Nevada has hosted the event, with the previous meet taking place in 2015 at Montrêux Golf & Country Club. More than a decade later, the Wolf Pack once again welcomes the conference's best runners back to Reno. 

Nevada most recently served as host for the 2024 NCAA Mountain Regional, when many of the nation's top distance runners competed at Washoe Golf Course. That experience helped showcase Reno's ability to host championship-caliber events and provides a familiar setting for teams returning to compete for conference titles.

This year's championship also kicks in a new era for the Mountain West. It will be the first conference championship featuring new members UTEP, UC Davis, Hawai'i, and Grand Canyon, creating an expanded and highly competitive field as teams battle for the conference crown and NCAA Regional berths.
