SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Nevada Men's Tennis opened the Golden Gate Invitational on Friday, going 1-1 after defeating Montana, but dropping the morning match to New Mexico State.

The Pack started the day on a positive note, winning the doubles point over the Aggies. New Mexico State took the advantage in the doubles session, winning on court two, 6-3.
Max Contet and
Rémy Trégourès tied the session with a 6-4 win on court three over Roko Stipetic and Lance Urlaub. The Wolf Pack clinched the doubles point on court one when
Youssef Kadiri and
Lucas Hammond continued their winning streak in dual matches, defeating Holland Snell and Itay Feigin, 6-4.

New Mexico State started its comeback winning two singles matches early. Tobias Wallin defeated Paul Théate on court two, 6-2, 6-3, and Feigin defeated Kadiri, 7-6, 6-3 in the top-flight match.

Rayen Hermassi tied the dual with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory against Urlaub on court four. However, the Aggies retook the lead with another three-set victory; Snell defeated Hammond, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Axel Huysmans picked up a strong victory on court five, 6-2, 6-3 over Matias Rojas to tie the dual once again.

The Aggies clinched the dual with a 6-3, 6-3 victory from Stipetic over Trégourès.

Nevada won its second split-doubles session of the day, once again falling behind after a court two loss. Montana's Duncan McCall and Johnny Wilkinson defeated Contet and Trégourès, 6-0. Kadiri and Hammond improved to 4-0 in dual matches together with their 6-3 win over Tom Bittner and Baltaz Wiger-Nordas. Huysmans and
Greg Valente clinched the point with a key 6-4 victory on court three.

The Wolf Pack jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a couple of straight-set singles victories. Hermassi won his match on court three over McCall, 6-3, 7-5. Huysmans capped off a 3-1 day with a 7-6 (3), 6-1 victory against Chris Zhang on court four.

Wilkinson pulled back a point for the Griz, he defeated Valente, 7-5, 6-4.

Kadiri clinched the dual for Nevada, capping off his own 3-1 day with his 24
th victory of the season, beating Bittner, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 on court one.

Nevada returns to the Golden Gate Invitational tomorrow for one last match, taking on Hawai'i for the second time this season at 1 p.m.
