RENO, Nev. – Junior right-handed pitcher Hailey McLean won her second Mountain West Pitcher of the Week award of the season. McLean made three appearances for the Pack at the Capital Classic, picking up decisions in all three games.
 
McLean went 2-0 with a save and 1.27 ERA over the weekend. She pitched 11.0 innings across her three games, giving up just seven hits and two runs. McLean continued to dominate the strike zone against batters, tallying 11 K's. McLean currently ranks 15^th in the country and first in the Mountain West with 71 strikeouts.
 
With her weekend starting in a save performance, McLean pitched two hitless innings to shut down Sacramento State, Friday afternoon.
 
McLean got the start in the Pack's only game on Friday, striking out a Hornet to get herself out of a jam in the first inning. After the first inning, McLean only allowed one hit and no runs in three innings while striking out three batters.
 
McLean finished the weekend with another start, against Santa Clara. McLean opened the game with four scoreless innings. The Sparks native ended the game with six strikeouts in five innings, allowing three hits and one run.
 
Her two wins bring McLean to 8-1 on the season, the most victories in the Mountain West. She also leads the conference in WHIP (1.07), innings pitched (57.0), hits per seven innings (4.30), and the earlier mentioned strikeouts (71).
 
Nevada, now 16-4 and ranked 31^st in the opening RPI of the season, heads to Fresno for four games against WCC opponents. Nevada will take on Saint Mary's in a doubleheader on Saturday, starting a 10 a.m. The Pack will also play a doubleheader against Pacific on Sunday scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
