FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Nevada Wolf Pack fought hard but eventually fell to Colorado State, 71-79, in a tough road matchup at Moby Arena. Nevada was led by Nick Davidson, who scored 22 points and a career-high 21 points from Tyler Rolison. Nevada couldn't withstand a second-half surge by the Rams. Colorado State's Nique Clifford scored 22 points, and Jalen Lake added 14 points to lead the home team as they pulled away late.
First Half
Nevada came out firing, quickly establishing an eight-point lead within the first ten minutes behind efficient scoring from Davidson and Rolison. The Wolf Pack's defense was also active, forcing several early turnovers and limiting Colorado State's second-chance opportunities. However, the Rams responded with their perimeter shooting, as Clifford and Lake combined for multiple three-pointers to keep the game within reach.
Colorado State continued to chip away at the deficit as the half progressed, using their size and rebounding to create extra possessions. Despite shooting 48.3 percent from the field, Nevada struggled to maintain their lead in the final minutes before halftime. A late basket by Rashaan Mbemba brought the Rams within three, and Nevada headed into the break, clinging to a 36-33 advantage.
Second Half
Colorado State wasted no time erasing the deficit, opening the second half with a quick 5-0 spurt to take their first lead. The momentum shifted as the Rams' defensive intensity increased, disrupting Nevada's offensive rhythm. Midway through the half, Clifford and Lake sparked an 11-0 run, pushing Colorado State's lead to double digits. Nevada fought back, with Rolison attacking the rim and Davidson converting in the paint, but the Rams' three-point shooting continued to be the difference-maker.
Down by as many as 19 points, Nevada made one last push in the closing minutes, cutting the deficit to six points with just over a minute remaining. Rolison's aggressive play helped keep the Wolf Pack within striking distance, but Colorado State responded at the free-throw line, hitting key shots to seal the game. Nevada falls to 15-11 (7-8 MW) before returning home to play.
