RENO, Nev. — The Nevada Wolf Pack put together a dominant performance at Lawlor Events Center, overpowering Fresno State 94-69. Behind a strong shooting effort and stifling defense, Nevada controlled the game from start to finish, never trailing after the opening moments.
Nick Davidson led the charge with an efficient 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting, while Justin McBride added 19 points and eight rebounds. Xavier DuSell provided a spark from beyond the arc with 15 points, knocking down five three-pointers, and Kobe Sanders contributed across the board with 10 points and 10 assists.
Fresno State was led by Jasir Tremble, who scored 19 points on five three-pointers, and Brian Amuneke, who added 14 points.
First Half
The first half saw Nevada set the tone early with their efficient shooting and defensive pressure. The Wolf Pack jumped out to a double-digit lead midway through the half, fueled by a balanced offensive attack. Davidson was nearly unstoppable, scoring inside and out, while DuSell connected on key three-pointers to keep Fresno State from gaining momentum. McBride also made his presence felt in the paint, converting high-percentage looks and grabbing rebounds to create second-chance opportunities. Fresno State struggled to match Nevada's pace, shooting just 43 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes. Despite a few short scoring bursts, the Bulldogs found themselves trailing 41-31 at halftime.
Second Half
Coming out of the break, Nevada wasted no time extending their lead. A quick scoring flurry from Davidson and a three-pointer from Sanders stretched the advantage to 15 early in the second half. The Wolf Pack's defense intensified, forcing turnovers and limiting Fresno State's clean looks at the basket. McBride continued to dominate inside, adding a pair of emphatic finishes at the rim. Fresno State attempted to rally behind Tremble's outside shooting, but every run was met with an answer from Nevada. DuSell's sharpshooting from deep helped put the game out of reach, as the Wolf Pack extended their lead to as many as 28 points.
Nevada's offensive efficiency proved to be the difference, as they shot 61 percent from the field and 44.8 percent from beyond the arc. Their defensive effort also forced 18 Fresno State turnovers, leading to 20 points on the other end. With the win, the Wolf Pack improved to 14-10 overall and 6-7 in Mountain West play, strengthening their push toward the conference tournament. They will look to build on this performance when they hit the road for their next matchup.
