AUSTIN, Texas – The Nevada Swim and Dive program competed at the Toyota U.S. Open this past week, showcasing strong performances against elite national competition.
On the opening day, Scarlett Ferris set the tone for the Wolf Pack with an impressive swim in the 50-meter backstroke, earning a 25th place finish with a time of 29.33.
Day two featured multiple Pack swimmers in action. Sally Vagg recorded a time of 1:02.30 to place 26th in the 100-meter butterfly, while Ferris returned to the pool to finish 22nd in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:03.30. Huska Batbayar highlighted the day with a standout effort in the 200-meter freestyle, finishing 16th overall to qualify for the consolation heat, where she improved to 12th place and ended the night with a time of 2:01.61.
On the final day of competition, Sara Mihalič closed out Nevada's showing with a 29th-place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke, clocking a time of 2:41.66. Sally Vagg added another strong race, placing 19th in the 200-meter butterfly with a time of 2:21.46.The Toyota U.S. Open provided Nevada's swimmers with valuable experience on the national stage, building momentum as the team continues its season.
The Wolf Pack are now looking forward to their final meet of 2025 on December 19 at 5 p.m. against New Mexico, where they will celebrate Senior Night.
