RENO, Nev. – Nevada Swim & Dive closed out its home schedule with a dominant victory over New Mexico on Friday evening, securing a perfect 4–0 record at Lombardi Pool this season. The night began with a celebration of Nevada's five seniors Bailey Heydra, Isabelle Gomez, Makena Malkemus, Huska Batbayar, and Madison Simons. Their leadership and impact were honored before competition began.
Nevada opened the meet with a strong statement in the 200-yard medley relay, taking both first and third place to set the tone for the evening. The quartet of Von Seggern, Mihalic, Wham, and Ferris powered to the win, while Allott, Kerr, Wood, and Vagg secured third to give the Pack early momentum.
On the boards, senior Bailey Heydra delivered a standout performance, winning the 3-meter with a score of 391.65 while Isabelle Wright secured third. Nevada dominated the 1-meter as well, sweeping the top three spots with Heydra earning her second win of the night, followed by Citlali Ruiz-Rocandio in second and Maggie Turpin in third.
The Pack's distance swimmers delivered the first sweep of the night in the 1000-yard freestyle, where senior Huska Batbayar led the field with a commanding victory. Fellow senior Isabelle Gomez followed in second, and Bull completed the sweep with a strong third-place finish. Nevada kept rolling in the 200-yard freestyle, earning another sweep behind a first-place performance from Mihalic, followed closely by Vagg and Allott.
Nevada's sprint group continued the surge in the 50-yard freestyle, where Float sprinted to the win and Wham added a third-place finish. The Pack added another victory in the 100-yard IM, with Ferris touching first and Kerr placing third to keep Nevada well ahead in the team scoring.
The momentum carried into the 100-yard butterfly, where Vagg claimed the top spot with Wood finishing just behind her in second. Nevada then produced its third sweep of the night in the 100-yard freestyle, led by Batbayar's second individual win. Wham and Gomez rounded out the podium to complete another dominant event for the Pack.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Von Seggern continued Nevada's winning ways with a first-place finish, while Griner added valuable points with a third-place performance. The Pack then delivered yet another sweep, this time in the 500-yard freestyle, as Berndt took control of the race for the win, followed by Allott in second and Malkemus in third.
Nevada's breaststroke group kept the pressure on in the 100-yard breaststroke, sweeping the podium behind Wood's first-place finish. Floate and Kerr followed in second and third, marking Nevada's fourth sweep of the night. The Pack closed the swimming portion of the meet with a 1–2 finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, with Ferris, Batbayar, Von Seggern, and Mihalic taking the win and the team of Griner, Gomez, Malkemus, and Bull finishing second.
Nevada now turns its attention to the road, returning to action on January 23 when the Pack travels to Las Vegas to face rival UNLV.
