Nevada closes non-conference play with a 78-75 victory over Duquesne

RENO, Nev. - Nevada (8-3) closed out its non-conference schedule with a hard-fought 78-75 victory over Duquesne (6-5) on Saturday night inside Lawlor Events Center.

The Pack limited the Dukes to 39 percent (23-for-59) from the field and 33 percent (11-for-33) from beyond the arc.

Once again, Nevada's bench proved to be a decisive factor in the game; Peyton White (12), Amire Robinson (8), Tyler Rolison (6), and Myles Walker (5) helped Nevada outscore Duquesne 37–20 in bench points, providing energy throughout the night. Jeriah Coleman came off the bench, leading the team in efficiency with a net impact of 15 in the 8 minutes he played.

Nevada finished the game shooting 45 percent (25-for-56) from the floor, 40 percent (4-for-10) from three-point range, and 75 percent (24-for-32) at the free-throw line. Defensively, the Pack recorded nine steals and five blocks, disrupting Duquesne's rhythm on both ends of the court.

Tayshawn Comer led Nevada offensively with 16 points, along with an assist and a rebound. Comer was followed by White and Elijah Price with 10, to give the Pack three scorers in double figures. Price led the team in rebounds (9) and the defense with three blocks, while Myles Walker had three steals.

FIRST HALF:
Duquesne opened the game with an early eight-point advantage, but Nevada quickly responded with a seven-point run to seize a 16–15 lead.

The Pack found its rhythm as it stretched the lead to 14 points in the final minutes.

Although the Dukes cut the deficit to 42–35, Nevada carried the momentum into the locker room at halftime.

SECOND HALF:
The Pack continued to set the tempo early in the second half, maintaining a close 50–47 lead at the first media timeout.

Duquesne remained within distance and eventually tied the game at 69–69 with two minutes remaining.

In the closing moments, White, Comer, and Walker converted key free throws to hold the Dukes' late push and close the game with a 78–75 victory.
