Nevada wins 78-77 against Pacific

RENO, Nev. - Nevada secured a 78-77 win against Pacific in Lawlor Events Center on Saturday night. The Wolf Pack came back from a late deficit and survived Pacific's final shot at the buzzer to improve to 2-0.

As a team, the Pack shot 43.1 percent from the field and 26.7 percent from behind the arc, with 18 offensive rebounds. On defense, the Pack recorded 31 defensive rebounds and forced eight turnovers, resulting in eight points in the game.

Tayshawn Comer led the Pack offense with 19 points, two assists, and five rebounds, followed by Tyler Rolison with 14 points and five rebounds.

Elijah Price (10 points and 10 rebounds) and Joel Armotrading (11 points and 15 rebounds) made their impact for the Pack, both posting double-doubles. Both Price and Armotrading led the defense with two blocked shots.

Despite Pacific shooting 45.5 percent (15-for-33) from the three-point line, the Pack came out on top in a thriller night in Lawlor Events Center.

First Half:
Nevada came out ahead, putting a 10-point lead with a three-point shot by Amire Robinson in the 10-minute mark, to get the Pack in the lead 20-10.
The Pacific responded by tying the game 27-27 at the 5-minute mark.
From there, the Pack and the Tigers closed the half tied 40-40. Comer led the offense with 14 points.

Second Half:
The battle continued in the second half, with both teams going back and forth until Peyton White's fast break two-point field goal, which led to a media timeout with the Pack leading, 53-49.
The Tigers answered by taking the lead at the 8-minute mark, 58-57. Pacific continued to extend its lead until the Pack offense responded, cutting the five-point deficit and making a five-point run to close the game, 78-77.

Nevada returns to Lawlor Events Center on Wednesday, November 12, when they are slated to host Southern Utah at 7 pm.
