BERKELEY, Calif. - After an 11 day stretch of no games, Nevada Women's Soccer was on the road taking on California, dropping the match with a final of 4-1.

Cal got on the board early on with Karlie Lema's first goal of the game coming in the 7th minute. Despite the Bears getting off nine shots, the Wolf Pack defense held strong through the rest of the first 45, keeping the score 1-0 at the break.

Nevada started the second half with more intensity. There was an energy shift as Lauren Muff slid the ball past Cal's goalie and tied the game in the 48th minute. Muff's goal is the first of her career.

Less than 10 minutes later, Lema scored for a second time for the Bears, bringing their lead back to one. Nevada was playing from behind again, wrestling to keep California at bay as two more goals were added for the Bears.

The Wolf Pack only got off two shots in the second half and struggled to keep the ball on the offensive side as the Bears continued to put on the pressure.

Alyssa Szarlacki recorded four saves in the net for Nevada, one more than California's goalkeeper.

The loss is the Pack's third consecutive and drops them below .500, now sitting at a record of 2-3.

Nevada will be back at home for the first time in nearly a month on September 12th, hosting Idaho at 7 PM.
