LA JOLLA, Calif. - Nevada Women's Soccer suffered its first shutout of the campaign Sunday, falling 3-0 at UC San Diego.

The loss evens the Wolf Pack's 2024 record at 2-2, with Nevada returning to action 11 days from now. Nevada will travel to the Bay Area to face California Thursday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m.

Sunday, UCSD's Raquel Kalpakoff bagged the first end of her brace early on, slotting home Lana Gilligan's cross from the right flank past Wolf Pack goalkeeper Mia Collins.

Nevada tried to push forward for much of the first half, even earning a pair of corner kicks following the goal, but could not seriously threaten. The Wolf Pack managed just four shots in the first half, but spent a good amount of its first 45 minutes fending off Triton pressure.

That Triton pressure paid off in the 32nd minute. An errant Nevada pass landed at the foot of UCSD's Lindsey Park just inside the Wolf Pack half, and Park quickly found Gilligan with room to run up the right flank. Gilligan delivered a textbook cross and Courtney Hilliard rose highest to nod home and double the Triton lead.

Kalpakoff's second, coming in the 55th minute, proved to be the dagger for UC San Diego (1-3-0). A Triton attack into the Wolf Pack box appeared to fizzle out, but Nevada's back line could not clear. The loose ball fell to Hilliard, who tapped to and open Kapakoff in the center of the box, who one-timed home.

Nevada was outshot 15-12 in the match, and had six attempts on frame to UC San Diego's nine.
