RENO, Nev. - Nevada ace Jason Doktorczyk made it two weeks in a row being named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week, Monday.

It's the fourth conference weekly honor of the season for the Wolf Pack, and third week in a row, after Nolan Wilson captured the player of the week honor April 7.

After an outing of a career high-tying 12 strikeouts over seven innings two Fridays ago, Doktorczyk hurled another gem this past Friday at UNLV. Doktorczyk went eight innings, striking out eight and allowing just one run over three hits in Nevada's series-opening 4-1 win.

The Seal Beach, Calif., native further burnished his case for Mountain West Pitcher of the Year, improving to 5-2 on the season and lowering his ERA to 3.09. Doktorczyk retired the final 12 batters he faced, striking out six of the final nine, and did not yield a hit over the final 4.2 innings of the outing.

Nevada takes on Utah Tech in non-conference action later today, with first pitch set for 1:05 p.m. PT. The Wolf Pack will head back out on the road to continue Mountain West play this weekend, traveling to Air Force. The teams will resume March 30's suspended contest, in which Nevada led 5-2 with two out in the top of the sixth at the point of suspension, Friday at a time to be announced before starting the three-game series proper.
