Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Wolf Pack stays undefeated at home, defeats Colorado State 4-1

RENO, Nev. – Nevada Women's Tennis won the middle leg of its three-match homestand, improving to 3-0 at McArthur Tennis Center. The Wolf Pack (8-7, 2-3 MW) defeated the Colorado State Rams (7-7, 3-2 MW), 4-1, with strong performance all through the lineup, as well as a doubles point victory.

The Wolf Pack opened the doubles session by taking multi-game leads on all three courts. Léa Cakarevic and Marlene Foerster dominated their match against Zara Lennon and Sarah Weekley. The transfer duo broke the Rams twice to open the match before cruising to a 6-2 victory. Amahée Charrier and Anastasia Luneva held a three-game lead over Radka Buzkova and Viktorya Zhadzinskaya before the Colorado State pair won five straight games, defeating the Pack's top duo, 6-4. The Pack clinched the doubles point on court three when freshmen Kennedy Robinson and Mia Miranda defeated Sarka Richterova and Luana Avela, 6-3.

The Wolf Pack doubled their lead with Wiem Boubaker's dominant 6-2, 6-1 victory over Zhadzinskaya on court six.

Colorado State pulled back a point on court four. Weekley defeated Luneva 6-2, 1-6, 6-2, with each set being dominated by one of the players.

Foerster put the Pack ahead 3-1 with her 6-2, 6-3 win. Despite dominating the match in the scorebook, Foerster's victory proved to be much more grueling and bothersome for Nevada's German native.

Nevada clinched the dual through Lou-Anne Guerbert's comeback victory against Avelar. Despite losing the first set 6-1, Guerbert responded with her own 6-1 set victory before pulling away from Avelar in the final set to win 6-3.

Just prior to the clinch, Robinson tied her match on court five with a 7-3 tiebreaker win after breaking Richterova to force the tiebreaker. The fifth flight match finished 1-6, 7-6 (3).

The top-flight match also went unfinished with Lennon leading Charrier 6-4, 2-6, 3-1 at the abandonment.

A quick turnaround sees the Pack hosting Fresno State tomorrow at noon at McArthur Tennis Center. The Bulldogs (8-9, 2-1 MW) fell at UNLV, 4-1, on Thursday for their first conference loss.
