Air Force erases 3-0 deficit to defeat Wolf Pack

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Nevada Men's Tennis fell in the first Mountain West match of the season. The Wolf Pack (6-8, 0-1 MW) gained a 3-0 lead before Air Force (6-8, 1-0 MW) won four straight matches to defeat the Pack.
 
The Pack won the doubles point with victories on courts two and three. Edgar Destouet and Greg Valente defeated AJ Moore and Tyler Leaird, 6-3, taking the lead in the doubles session. The Falcons responded, winning on court one, 6-4, with Arjun Kersten and Jack Brown's efforts over Matheo Coupu and Youssef Kadiri. Nevada clinched the doubles point on court two when Loris Zisswiller and Rémy Trégourès defeated Phillip Deaton and Kyle Garner, 7-5.
 
Coupu doubled the Pack's early lead with a quick 6-1 victory in set one, and a tight victory in set two, 7-5, defeating Deaton. Trégourès brought Nevada within one point of the dual victory with his 6-2, 6-4 victory against Brown on court five.
 
Air Force's comeback began with Nick Vroman's 6-2, 6-3 win on court six against Valente. Kersten then defeated Zisswiller on court two. Kersten edged Zisswiller in a first set tiebreaker, winning 7-6 (5), before taking set two, 6-3.
 
The Falcons tied the dual on court three, when Moore took advantage of a pair of key breaks against Kadiri, defeating the Nevada junior, 6-4, 6-4. Air Force clinched the dual victory with the only match which went to a third set, when Alec Fritzinger defeated Destouet, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 on court four.
 
Nevada returns home to McArthur Tennis Center on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match against San Diego State. The Aztecs are currently 11-3 and will begin their Mountain West season at Boise State on Friday.
