Frey Ranch® Distillery and Nevada Athletics Debut Collaboration with Special Single Barrel Whiskey

RENO, Nev. - Nevada born and raised whiskey brand Frey Ranch® Distillery  and Nevada Wolf Pack Athletics have collaborated on a special single barrel selection of Frey Ranch's award-winning Four Grain Straight Bourbon. The exclusive American Whiskey offering will be available through a dinner and barrel release presented by Grand Sierra Resort & Casino and Frey Ranch, in conjunction with Wolf Pack Athletics on Saturday, April 13 at 7 p.m. In its mission to support university athletics, proceeds from the event benefit the Pack Excellence Fund. Every ticket purchased for the dinner will include a bottle of the single barrel whiskey. The event is open to anyone 21+ and tickets are available online now on Eventbrite.

The barrel was selected by Nevada Athletic Director Stephanie Rempe, football head coach Jeff Choate, and select members of the Wolf Pack Athletics Association, and marks the start of a partnership that could only be made in Nevada. As notable alumni of the university, Frey Ranch co-founders Colby and Ashley Frey were recently recognized with on-campus banners for helping champion the 'Wolf Pack Way.'

"This opportunity is a full circle moment for Ashley and me. We were both born in Nevada, and went to school at the University of Nevada, so we're honored to have a special Wolf Pack single barrel whiskey that comes from Frey Ranch," said Colby Frey. "When we were students, we went to many Nevada games together and now, as we mark 10 years of Frey Ranch, it's incredible that we can also celebrate all the Wolf Pack wins with a glass of our single barrel."

Earlier this year, both Frey Ranch and Nevada Athletics teams tasted several single barrels at the distillery in Fallon, Nev. before deciding on barrel #2466 for this exclusive release. Made with slow-grown grains from the Frey Ranch farm, all Frey Ranch whiskey is distilled, matured, and bottled on-site. Barrel #2466 presents light, floral notes, and hints of fresh linen on the nose, with dark chocolate, dried cherry, and rich caramelized sugar on the palate, ending with a distinct, spicy finish with touches of nougat and cherry pie.

Along with a bottle of the exclusive single barrel, the event includes a family style dinner, a Frey Ranch signature cocktail, and bottle signing opportunities with Colby and Ashley Frey, as well as University of Nevada representatives. Guests will also hear about the barrel selection process from the Freys and special guests from Nevada Athletics will be on hand to celebrate. For fans of Frey Ranch and the Wolf Pack, this release is the first in a partnership between the two that will take place throughout the year.
