RENO, Nev. – The Pack falls short in Fresno State series finale, dropping the game 7-4.
Fresno scored their two runs in the first inning with two back-to-back singles and a Bulldog reaching on a fielder's choice. Fresno State added their first run stealing home and their second run with a sac fly.
The Pack scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the inning with
Taryn Jenkins reaching on an error and stealing second,
Bridgette Gilliano stealing advancing to third, and
Chelie Senini scoring.
The Pack tied the game at two in the bottom of the third with a Gilliano RBI single, scoring Senini.
The Pack tacked on two more runs in the fourth to take the lead, 4-2. The third run of the game came in the form of an RBI single to right scoring
Matlyn Leetch, who came in to pinch run for
Charli Hawkins, who reached base on a shortstop error. The Pack notched their fourth run on a sacrifice groundout by Senini, scoring
Maile Olsen.
Tyra Clary got the start for the Pack and went 5.0 innings before making a pitching in the sixth bringing in
Blake Craft to relieve Clary. Clary struck out two, walked four, and allowed two runs on four hits.
Craft went 0.2 innings, walked one, and gave up three runs on four hits.
Carley Brown came in to relieve Craft in the sixth allowing two runs on two hits.
The Bulldogs had a three-run sixth inning to reclaim the lead, 5-4, with three RBI across two singles.
The Pack had two on with a chance to tie it up but the inning ended on a Painter flyout.
Bulldogs add their final three runs of the game on an RBI single, RBI double, and scoring on an error by the pitcher.
The Pack wasn't able to complete the walk off comeback, with the Bulldogs retiring the final three Pack batters.
Notables:
- Chelie Senini recorded her 150th stolen base of her career.
- Senini ties Kym Silagyi for 3rd on the Nevada career hits list.
- Senini ties 4th for single-season stolen bases (23).
- Bridgette Gilliano tallied two hits, her 10th multi-hit game of the season.
- Bailie Clark hit a double and a single, she has recorded multiple hits in five of the 11 games where she has an at-bat
