RENO, Nev. – Lou-Anne Guerbert's thrilling victory clinched the Pack's Mountain West opener against Wyoming, Friday afternoon.
 
Wyoming took the early lead with a dominant doubles performance to take the 1-0 lead. Lucia Malinak and Jeselle Ante made quick work of Wiem Boubaker and Kennedy Robinson, defeating the Wolf Pack duo 6-0 on court three. The Cowgirls then clinched the doubles point with Sophie Zehender and Violette Borodina's 6-3 top-flight victory against Amahée Charrier and Anastasia Luneva.
 
The Pack responded quickly with Robinson's 6-2, 6-1 victory over Malinak on court six, tying the dual, 1-1. Anastasia Luneva put Nevada ahead, 2-1, with a win on court four. Luneva defeated Nikol Dobrilova 6-2, 6-4.
 
Noesjka Brink re-tied the dual for Wyoming, defeating Marlene Foerster 6-3, 6-4 on court two. Zehender regained the Cowgirl lead with her 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win over Charrier.
 
On court five, Wiem Boubaker defeated Ante in comeback fashion, losing the first set. Boubaker defeated Ante 6-3 in the second set, before dominating the final frame, 6-1, and tying the dual again for Nevada.
 
Clinching the dual for Nevada, Lou-Anne Guerbert flipped the momentum against Borodina to prevail in a decisive third set. After winning the first set 7-5, Borodina returned in the second set with a 6-4 win, seeming to have all momentum on her side. Guerbert proved that to be wrong, dominating the final set, 6-1.
 
Up next, Nevada makes a quick trip down to the South Bay for their 1 p.m. match at San José State on Sunday.
