Wolf Pack turns weekend around, sweeps Stanislaus State after loss at Pacific

TURLOCK, Calif. – Following a tough loss to Pacific, 4-0, the Pack bounced back sweeping Stanislaus State twice to close out their non-conference schedule.

Playing without Lou-Anne Guerbert and reigning Mountain West player of the week, Kennedy Robinson, Nevada entered Stockton down two regulars in the lineup due to injuries. Pacific took advantage of the injured Pack, winning the doubles point through a pair of 6-2 victories.

In the singles session, Klara Kosan defeated Marlene Foerster, 6-4, 6-2 to double the Tigers' lead. Shortly after, Tomi Main completed her 6-4, 6-1 victory over Amahée Charrier to bring Pacific within one point of clinching. On court five, Indiya McLeod bested Mia Miranda, 6-3, 6-3 to clinch the Pacific victory.

Three singles matches were abandoned, all of which showed to be more competitive for the Wolf Pack. Anastasia Luneva defeated Megan Carmichael in the first set, 7-5, but trailed 2-1 in the second set at the match's conclusion. Wiem Boubaker won her first set against Zoe Clydesdale-Eberle, 6-3, but lost the following frame with a reversed score, finishing 6-3, 3-6. Finally, Léa Cakarevic dropped her first set in a tiebreaker to Liza Mladentseva 7-6 (2), but finished with the second set tied at the abandonment.

On Sunday, the Pack swept the first match quickly, beating the Stanislaus State Warriors, 4-0. The Pack won the doubles point, winning all three matches. Charrier and Luneva won the top-flight match 6-2 over Annabelle Mulick and Zuzanna Dziewiecka. Miranda and Boubaker clinched the point with a 6-3 victory against Nicollet Alexander and Abbigail Mulick on court three. Foerster and Cakarevic finished their second flight match shortly after, defeating Emma Yu and Alyssa Tay, 6-4.

Nevada dominated the singles session, not allowing a single set and only losing nine games across the six matches. In the No. 5 match, Boubaker went 12-for-12, defeating Ab. Mulick, 6-0, 6-0 giving the Wolf Pack the 2-0 dual lead.

Charrier added to Pack's lead, defeating Tay 6-0, 6-2 in the second flight match. Foerster clinched the first match for Nevada with her 6-1, 6-2 win against Dziewiecka.

Luneva led An. Mulick 6-0, 5-1 when her third-flight match was abandoned. The fourth flight match was unfinished 6-1, 3-1, favoring Cakarevic at the conclusion of the match. Finally, Miranda was within a game of winning her match, when her sixth flight match was abandoned 6-1, 5-0.

In the backend of Sunday's doubleheader, the Pack completed the full 7-0 sweep of Stanislaus, with four members of the Pack earning their first singles win of the dual season.

In the doubles session, Foerster/Cakarevic made their top-flight debut, defeating Dziewiecka and An. Mulick, 6-2. Charrier and Luneva's 6-1 victory against Yu and Tay clinched the second doubles point of the day for Nevada. Gabriella Charalampidi and Mathilde Sarcelet made their debut together, winning the third-flight match 6-3 against Ab. Mulick and Alexander.

The Pack showed out again in the second singles session, winning all 12 sets played in the six matches. Foerster and Charrier both finished their days four-for-four with the top-flight and second-flight wins, respectively. Foerster defeated Dziewiecka again, this time finishing 6-1, 6-4. Charrier, playing An. Mulick in her second match, won 6-0, 6-2.

Three members of the Wolf Pack made their first appearance of the dual season, all of which won their match. In the No. 3 match, Charalampidi defeated Tay, 6-1, 6-2. Sarcelet made quick work of her opponent, defeating Yu, 6-0, 6-1. Nicolette Fuhr made her debut in the No. 5 match, defeating Alexander 6-1, 6-2.

Wrapping up the session, Miranda won her first dual singles match with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Ab. Mulick.
