4x400 secures gold, Senegal speeds to first career Mountain West title, Marske claims podium finish to wrap final day of Mountain West Indoor Championships

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The 4x400 meter relay claimed the Mountain West title for the second year in a row in school record fashion, Halyn Senegal claimed her first Mountain West title in the 800 meters, Sarah Marske earned her first career podium finish in the 60-meter hurdles, and Nevada Track and Field wrapped the third and final day of the 2024 Mountain West Indoor Championships finishing seventh with 41 points.

The 4x400 meter relay squad of Melia Middleton, Annalies Kalma, Bonét Henderson, and Halyn Senegal edged out San Diego State by three one hundredths of a second to secure the first-place finish in the event, running a school record time of 3:37.20. This marks the second time in school history Nevada has taken the crown in the event, the first being last season at the 2023 Indoor Championships.

Senegal claimed her spot at the top of the podium in the 800 meters final in first place, earning her first career Mountain West title in a time of 2:07.48, scoring 10 points for Nevada. Her time from Saturday afternoon doesn't best her personal record, so Senegal remains second all-time in the event.

In the final of the 60-meter hurdles, Marske got it done in a close final heat, claiming a third-place overall finish to get on the podium, marking her first career Mountain West championship medal in a time of 8.46.

Annalies Kalma secured a fourth-place finish in the 400 meters final in a personal record time of 53.91, just missing the podium, but remaining second all-time in school history. Kalma's finish earned the Pack five points.

Rayven Nealey led the Pack with a fourth-place finish in the triple jump, her best jump a mark of 12.74m, which she reached on her first attempt in the final, giving the Pack five points. Meekness Dogonyaro made her first Mountain West Championship appearance, finishing 15th with a mark of 11.51m.

Kate Kadrmas represented the Pack solo in shot put, placing 16th (11.25m). In the 3000 meters, Emily Clarke ran a time of 10:05.53, placing 26th overall in her second race of the week.

The Wolf Pack will close the book on the 2024 indoor season and look towards the outdoor season beginning March 15-16 with the Hornet Invitational, hosted by Sacramento State.
