Audrey Roden was named Mountain West Player of the Week while freshman guard
Izzy Sullivan was named the conference's Freshman of the Week, the Mountain West announced Monday.
Roden picked up her first Mountain West Player of the Week award after averaging 18 points per game to lead Nevada to wins over San Diego State and Boise State. Sullivan earned her fourth Mountain West Freshman of the Week award of the season, the most by any Nevada player in program history.
Leading Nevada with 19 points against San Diego State and 17 points against Boise State, Roden was instrumental in helping Nevada to a pair of wins that has lifted the Wolf Pack into fourth in the Mountain West standings. After San Diego State tied the game at 69 with under two minutes to go, Roden delivered the go-ahead 3-pointer to give Nevada the lead for good on Wednesday. The West Linn, Oregon, native scored or assisted on three of Nevada's final four baskets to help Nevada to the one-point win over the Aztecs.
Shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from 3-point range this past week, Roden came up with a game-ending steal and layup with 12 seconds to go in overtime that helped Nevada defeat Boise State on Saturday. The 2022-23 All-Mountain West Freshman Team honoree and two-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete leads Nevada in scoring with 12.3 points per game. Roden also leads the team in assists (58), steals (57) and is in the top 15 in scoring, rebounding and steals among Mountain West players in conference games.
Sullivan averaged 16 points per game in Nevada's two wins this week, leading Nevada in scoring with 19 points in the Pack's 68-65 overtime win against Boise State on Saturday. In addition to grabbing a career-high six rebounds against Boise State, Sullivan scored 12 out of her 19 points in the second half to help Nevada to the win.
Leading Nevada with 43 made 3-pointers, Sullivan is a four-time Mountain West Freshman of the Week award winner. Sullivan is currently in the top 10 among Mountain West Players in made 3-pointers and has registered nine double-digit scoring games in conference play, including a pair of 20-point outings.
Roden, Sullivan and the rest of the Nevada women's basketball team go on the road to take on Fresno State at 6 p.m. on Wednesday before returning to Lawlor Events Center on Saturday to take on UNLV at 6:30 p.m. in front of a nationally televised audience.

Nevada women's basketball will be one of 11 teams competing for the Mountain West's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. First round action for the women's tournament begins March 10 and the championship game takes place on March 13.
