Nevada Falls to Wyoming

Laramie, Wyo. - Nevada came up short in the 63-66 loss on the road against Wyoming, making their overall record 8-5 and 0-2 in Mountain West Conference Play. With the win from the Cowboys, Wyoming continues its winning streak over the Wolf Pack in the Arena-Auditorium, with the last win from the Wolf Pack in the arena being on February 25, 2020.

The Cowboys were led by Agbim, who led all scorers with 18 points, and Tainamo with 15 points. The Wolf Pack were led by Nick Davidson and Kobe Sanders, who ended the game with 15 points apiece. Justin McBride also led the Wolf Pack with 11 points, five rebounds, and a career-high three blocks.
 

First Half 

The first half was a back-and-forth game, with Kobe Sanders of Nevada starting hot with seven points for the first half. Agbim was able to match Sanders' points total with seven. Wyoming was able to create separation early, with their most significant lead being right with just below 10 minutes left to play in the 1st.

Nevada could fight back with big stops and big plays to keep the lead from Wyoming minimal going into the second half, which was 24-26. Nevada started the game 1 of 5 from three-point range and shot a total of 38.1 percent from the field. In the first half, Wyoming shot 36.4 percent from the three-point range on 11 attempts while also shooting 40 percent in the first.
 

Second Half

The second half continued to be a back-and-forth battle, trading buckets from deep as Nevada shot 66.7 percent from three on six attempts. 50 percent from the field, and also went 100 percent from the free throw line on nine attempts in the second half.

With the back-and-forth battle, Justin McBride hits a mid-range jumper for two to go up 63-61 with 1:33 left in the game. Unfortunately, Nevada could not buy a bucket for the rest of the game. With Wyoming capitalizing on that, they secured a 66-63 win over the Wolf Pack in a nail-biter.

Notable Stats:

Nevada won the turnover battle 16-19.

Nevada won the battle in the paint, scoring 22 to Wyoming's 20.

Nevada shot 100 percent from the free-throw line on nine attempts in the se half.

Nevada lost the battle from the bench 12-30.
