Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Nevada Falls to Colorado State at Home

Reno, Nev. - Nevada came up short in the 64-66 loss at home against Colorado State, making their overall record 8-4 and 0-1 in Mountain West Conference Play. With the win from Colorado State, the Rams only trail the Wolf Pack 15-10 in the overall series and hold a two-game winning streak over the Wolf Pack, with their win prior being in the first round of the Mountain West tournament. The Rams were led by Nique Clifford and Kyan Evans, who had 16 points a piece. The Wolf Pack were led in scoring by Nick Davidson and Kobe Sanders with 13 points a piece.

First Half

The first half showcased a competitive start as both teams battled to establish control. Nevada came out with intense defensive energy, contesting shots and forcing turnovers. However, Colorado State responded with effective ball movement and consistent shooting from beyond the arc. The Wolf Pack's offensive struggles were apparent, with missed opportunities in the paint and a cold stretch from mid-range. Despite this, Nevada found a rhythm late in the half, sparked by quick transition plays and three-pointers. The teams entered halftime with Colorado State holding a slim lead, capitalizing on their efficient shooting and disciplined execution.

Second Half

The second half saw an intensification of the contest, with Nevada making adjustments to their offensive schemes. The Wolf Pack attacked the rim aggressively, drawing fouls and converting free throws. On the defensive end, Nevada's press began to disrupt Colorado State's rhythm, leading to a series of turnovers. However, a crucial cold stretch midway through the half severely hampered Nevada's momentum. The Wolf Pack struggled to buy a shot, missing open looks and critical attempts from both inside and outside. This offensive drought allowed Colorado State to extend its lead despite Nevada's defensive efforts.
