Reno, Nev. - Nevada succeeds in a 105 -73 win over the Texas Southern Tigers in the last non conference game of the season. The Wolf Pack broke the single-game record in made threes with 18 threes tonight on 36 attempts.
The record held previously was by the 2020 Nevada team, which knocked down 17 threes on 35 attempts against New Mexico on January 25th, 2020. Nevada was led by Xavier DuSell, scoring 25 points and knocking down 7 of his 11 threes tonight.
The Wolf Pack were also led by Nick Davidson, who had 21 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds while shooting 70 percent from the field, 50 percent from three on six attempts, and 100 percent from the free throw line on four attempts.
The Wolf Pack also shot 88.2 percent from the line, which is a new season high for the Pack. The Tigers were led in this game by Zaire Hayes with 16 points and Kavion McClain with 13 points.
First Half
Nevada cruised through the whole game with the lead on a 13 - 4 run to begin the game. It seemed like the Wolf Pack could not be stopped as they finished the first half shooting 62.1 percent from the field and 52.4 percent and 88.9 percent from the three-point line. By the end of the first half, Nevada had three players in double figures: Xavier DuSell, Kobe Sanders, and Nick Davidson.
Second Half
The second half was nothing more than a continuation of the first, with the Pack's most significant lead being 24 points in the first and their most important lead of the game being 37 at one point during the contest. In the second half, Nevada shot 56.3 percent from the field, 46.7 percent from three, and 87.5 percent from the free-throw line. The consistent effort on both ends gave the Wolf Pack a 105 - 73 win, finishing the non-conference schedule 8-3 ahead of Mountain West Conference play.
