Albuquerque, New Mexico — The Nevada Wolf Pack faced a tough challenge against the New Mexico Lobos, ultimately losing in a four-set match at the Johnson Center. Despite a strong effort, Nevada was unable to overcome New Mexico's balanced attack, falling by scores of 27-25, 20-25, 12-25, and 22-25. This loss moved Nevada's season record to 11-13 overall and 4-9 in the Mountain West Conference.
The match began with high intensity, as both teams fought point for point in a tightly contested first set. Gabby McLaughlin was a key offensive contributor for the Wolf Pack, leading with 14 kills and supplementing her performance with 10 digs. Bella Snyder also played a pivotal role, securing 12 kills and posting an efficient .259 hitting percentage. McKenna Dressel offensively helped by contributing eight kills. Tehya Maeva led the team with 29 assists, three aces and 13 digs.
Sierra Bernard stepped in with key assists throughout the match tallying 14. Masyn Navarro defensively impacted the team with her 10 digs.
Nevada opened the match strong, edging out New Mexico in a tight 27-25 first set. However, the Lobos responded with a strategic offensive shift, taking the second set 25-20 and maintaining that momentum through the third set with a decisive 25-12 win. The Wolf Pack fought hard to extend the match in the fourth set but ultimately fell short, losing 25-22 despite showcasing moments of solid team play.
Looking ahead, Nevada aims to regroup and refocus as they prepare for their upcoming match against Air Force on Saturday.
