Nevada Volleyball Earns First Mountain West Sweep in Victory Over Air Force

RENO, Nev.— The Nevada volleyball team secured its first Mountain West sweep of the season with a dominant 3-0 victory over Air Force at the Virginia Street Gym. The Wolf Pack, now 9-8 overall and 2-3 in Mountain West play, put together a well-rounded performance, overpowering the Falcons with a balanced offense and standout serving. 

Nevada came out strong in the first set, opening with a 6-0 run behind stellar serving and efficient attacking. Bella Snyder contributed a service ace to push the lead to 12-6, and the Wolf Pack won the set, 25-18. 

The second set saw Nevada continue to assert its dominance, starting with a 9-3 lead. The Wolf Pack extended their margin to 16-9, with key contributions from Gabby McLaughlin and Snyder. Snyder delivered another service ace at 22-14, followed by a well-executed dump by Tehya Maeva to bring the set to 24-15. Nevada sealed the set 25-15. 

In the third and final set, Nevada surged to a 9-2 lead, aided by a crucial kill from Snyder. The team continued to roll, extending the lead to 15-8. Masyn Navarro added a service ace at 20-10, and Snyder, who tallied 10 helped to secure the 25-15 set victory. McLaughlin finished the match with 14 kills, Carissa Chainey with nine, and Sia Liilii with seven.  

Defensively, Kinsley Singleton anchored the back row with 14 digs and five assists, while Snyder and McLaughlin contributed to the team's 7 total blocks. Maeva recorded 30 assists, quarterbacking the offense.  

With the win, Nevada moves up in the Mountain West standings and looks to continue their strong form in upcoming matches. The Wolf Pack turn around to play New Mexico on Saturday at noon.
