EARLY WORK
Nevada has two freshmen in
Dymonique Maxie and
Izzy Sullivan that are climbing the freshmen ranks in the NCAA Era. Maxie needs just four more steals to move into the top 10 for most steals by a Nevada freshman. Maxie needs 32 more steals to claim the Nevada Freshmen Steals Record set by Carissa Meyer (1994-95). Sullivan is currently seventh among Nevada freshmen in the NCAA Era in made 3-pointers in a single season. She needs 29 more to claim the Nevada Freshmen 3-Pointers Record set by current Nevada teammate
Audrey Roden (2021-22).
MILESTONE MARKERS
Nevada has had a trio of Pack players who recently obtained career milestones. Junior guard
Audrey Roden and senior guard
Victoria Davis recently hit the century mark for career steals. Roden (four steals) and Davis (two steals) both obtained their 100th career steals Dec. 21 against BYU. Senior forward
Lexie Givens' first rebound of the game Dec. 30 against New Mexico was her 500th career rebound. Davis is just three points away from scoring her 500th career point. Givens is five steals away from cracking 100 career steals. Roden is four assists away from dishing out her 100th career assist.
SWEET STEALS
Nevada women's basketball has made getting steals and forcing turnovers a part of their early identity. The Pack are currently 11th in the nation and first in the Mountain West in steals, averaging 12.7 steals per game. Nevada is also in the top 20 in the nation in turnover margin with an average of 6.63. The Pack opened the season with 23 steals Nov. 9, the fourth-most by a Wolf Pack squad in a single game in the NCAA Era. They recently collected 24 steals Dec. 16 against Stanislaus State, the third-most by a Nevada team in a single game in the NCAA Era. Guards
Audrey Roden and
Victoria Davis also obtained the 100 career steals mark earlier this year.
INCREDIBLE IZZY
Nevada women's basketball freshman guard
Izzy Sullivan has hit the ground running in her first season with the Pack. Sullivan, a two-time Mountain West Freshman of the Week award winner, has a pair of 20-point games and is coming off a career-high 22 points in Nevada's Mountain West opener Dec. 30 against New Mexico. Currently leading Nevada in 3-point shooting, Sullivan joins teammate
Audrey Roden as one of only two Nevada players to earn multiple Mountain West Player of the Week awards. She is the first Nevada freshman in the
Amanda Levens Era to register multiple 20-point games in her first collegiate season. Sullivan made her first collegiate start Jan. 3 at Boise State shortly after collecting her second conference Freshman of the Week award.
SCOUTING AIR FORCE
After a massive overtime win against San Diego State, Air Force is looking to rebound following a 51-68 defeat against Wyoming. Air Force has held its opponents to just 65.8 points per game and are averaging 60.8 points per game on offense. Like Nevada, Air Force thrives on steals and has collected 12 steals per game in 2023-24.
Milahnie Perry leads the Air Force offense with 15 points per game while Madison Smith has collected 11.7 points per game to go with 5.7 rebounds per game. Air Force's roster is a young one, with 10 players being a freshman or sophomore.
