LAS VEGAS – Nevada drops final regular season meet at in-state rival, UNLV, with a final score of 149-94.
Nevada divers had a dominant performance at home against New Mexico and continued that momentum into UNLV as the Pack scored first in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard. In the 1-meter,
Lucia Gabino secured the first-place finish, with a score of 287.03. The Madrid, Spain native was followed by
Melissa Mirafuentes in second (286.73),
Dani Griffin in fifth (202.05), and
Madison Simons in eighth (196.5).
In the 3-meter springboard, the Pack was led by
Melissa Mirafuentes with a score of 334.13. The Guadalupe, Mexico native was followed by Gabino in third (262.50), Griffin in fifth (253.35), and Simons in seventh (205.8).
Nevada swim started the evening with a win over UNLV in the 400 medley relay.
Scarlett Ferris,
Sara Mihalic,
Yasmin Perry, and
Colette Berkenfield finished with a time of 3:37.87, the third best time in Nevada history and the best time this season in the Mountain West Conference. Ferris' 100 backstroke leadoff split of 52.97 lowers her lifetime best and is only the second Wolf Pack swimmer to do so in sub-53 seconds. Ferris beat her own top time in the conference this season (53.23 at mid-season).
Yasmin Perry secured individual wins for the Pack. Perry in the 200 butterfly went 1:57.10, currently a top-50 time in the nation and third all-time at Nevada in respective event.
Sara Mihalic had first-place finishes in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.54 and the 200 breaststroke (2:15.39).
The Pack secured the second and third place finishes in the 50 freestyle with Ferris in second (23.58) and
Evie Floate in third (23.94).
Anslee Dickerson had two top-5 finishes, coming in fourth in the 200 IM (2:05.96) and fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.29).
In the 200 backstroke,
Katelyn Buono finished third (2:01.76) and
Molly Von Seggern came in fourth at 2:02.76.

The Pack will head to the Mountain West Championships Feb. 21-24 in Houston, Texas.
