Bray adds Kristen Quigley to coaching staff

RENO, Nev. – Kristen Quigley joins the swim and dive coaching staff as an assistant swim coach, head coach Brendon Bray announced.

"I'm excited to have the opportunity to learn from both Coach Bray and Coach Contreras and be involved in the sport that shaped so much of my life," Quigley said. "I have always loved coaching and leadership in sport, so I am extremely grateful to have this opportunity to work with the Nevada swim team."

Quigley comes with coaching experience from her most recent position as the head swimming coach for Team Ontario at the 2023 North American Indigenous Games, which she competed at in 2017.

Quigley was a student-athlete at the University of South Dakota where she swam for the Coyotes from 2018-2022. During her time as a Coyote, she earned All-Summit League honors twice, placed in the Coyote all-time top 10 in five events, and was voted the hardest working female her sophomore season. Quigley is originally from Guelph, Ontario, Canada where she was nationally ranked.

Quigley is a graduate researcher in the Neuromechanics Lab where she primarily investigates neurocognitive concussion assessments and head impact kinematics. She will continue her education at Nevada, pursuing a doctorate in Integrative Neuroscience.

Nevada opens its season at San José State University on Sept. 30 at 10 a.m.
