Wolf Pack Women’s Golf Adds Kansas Transfer Anna Shultse

RENO, Nev. - The Nevada Women's Golf program and Head Coach Kathleen Takaishi have announced the addition of University of Kansas transfer and Russian National team member, Anna Shultse, ahead of the 2023-24 season.

"I am excited to have Anna join our program this fall," said Takaishi. "She has national tournament experience and has the ability to consistently shoot low scores. Anna is a great addition to our program."

Originally from Moscow, Russia, Shultse spent her freshman year competing for Kansas. In her lone season with the Jayhawks, she competed in five events, compiling a stroke average of 78.88.

She had her best finish of the season at the 2023 Match in the Desert where she finished tied for 26th after carding a 74 (+2) in the 18-hole event. Her score of 74 marked her best round of the season, as she also fired off the same score in the second round of the first event of her collegiate career at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational before matching the same score later in the season at the Match in the Desert.

Prior to enrolling at Kansas, Shultse had a spectacular career on the amateur circuit, most notably winning the 2021 Russian National Championship outright after completing the event at -1 (74-72-72-69=287). Shultse also claimed an outright victory at the 2021 Russian Junior Championship, carding a three-round score of 225 (74-77-74). Her exceptional play throughout 2021 earned her a spot on the Russian National team.

Shultse has had a multitude of other impressive outings during her amateur career, including a runner-up finish at the 2021 Russian Amateur Championship after shooting even par for the event (71-71-74-72=288).

Two years prior, at the 2019 Russian Junior Championship, Shultse had a sensational performance, setting the course record at the event after carding a 66 (-6).

Shultse will have three years of eligibility remaining with the Nevada Women's Golf program.

The signing of Shultse is a massive addition for the Pack, as the team will aim to build upon one of the most successful seasons in program history.
