RENO, Nev. - For the second consecutive year, Nevada women's golfer Victoria Gailey has received an at-large selection to participate in the 2023 NCAA Regionals, as announced on the Golf Channel Wednesday morning.
Gailey is now just the second golfer in Nevada Women's Golf history to earn multiple at-large selections to the NCAA Regionals throughout her career, joining Angie Yoon as the only other Pack women's golfer to accomplish the incredible feat.
Gailey was one of 36 golfers in the nation to qualify as an individual and will compete in the San Antonio Regional.
In her fifth year competing for Nevada, Gailey had another sensational season, as she now prepares to close out what has been nothing short of a legendary career with the Pack.
Gailey won three consecutive individual titles this season, capturing championships at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic, the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, and The Clash at Boulder Creek.
During her title run at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic, she set program records for single-round low score (65, first round), 36-hole low score (133), and 54-hole tournament low score (201).
Gailey completed this season with the 16th best average score in the country (71.1), and she managed to finish within the top-17 of all nine tournaments that she competed in this year.
She has built significant momentum heading into the NCAA Regionals, as she has finished within the top-7 on the final leaderboard in each of the past three events that she has competed in.
Most recently, Gailey earned a tie for sixth place at the 2023 Mountain West Championships after carding three consecutive rounds of 71 (-1) to complete the event at three shots below par.
Gailey competed in the Stanford Regional in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, where she finished tied for 30th with a 54-hole score of 220 (+4). She will aim to surpass last year's performance and advance to the 2023 NCAA Women's Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona from May 19-24.
The Regional round will take place May 8-10 at TPC San Antonio, as the six individual qualifiers and competitors from all 12 teams that qualified will partake in one 18-hole round each day, for a total of 54 holes. The top two individual performers (not on an advancing team) will qualify for the 2023 NCAA Women's Championship.
