SAN JOSE - Nevada Women's Tennis bounced back from Friday's heartbreaker against Air Force, coming back from an early deficit to defeat New Mexico, 4-2, to earn a split of its weekend in San Jose.
The Wolf Pack (8-8, 3-5 MW) dropped the doubles point, but quickly took control in singles play.
Mariana Campino rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 4 over Leonie Hoppe, and
Audrey Moutama defeated Maria Sodre, 7-5, 6-4, at No. 6 to put the Pack up 2-1.
New Mexico (10-6, 3-4 MW) evened things at 2-2 with a win at No. 2, but Nevada retook control in short order.
Anastasia Luneva terminated New Mexico's momentum with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Sarah O'Connor at No. 1, and the Pack clinched the match at No. 3 as
Lou-Anne Guerbert outlasted Maud Vandeputte in a second-set tiebreaker for the 6-1, 7-6 (1) victory.
Nevada wraps the regular season next weekend in Las Vegas. The Pack will face host UNLV Friday at 1 p.m. then close the weekend Saturday at 9:30 a.m. against San Diego State.
