SAN JOSE - For the third time in seven conference matches, Nevada Women's Tennis went the distance, but had the result go the other way. Friday in San Jose, the Wolf Pack fell, 4-3, to first-place Air Force when the Falcons' Courtney --Swift outlasted Mariana Campino, 7-5, 1-6, 7-6 (6) for the clinching point at No. 4 singles.

Nevada (7-8, 2-5 MW) stormed back after dropping the doubles point, picking up straight-sets victories at Nos. 2, 3, and 5 in singles to push Air Force to the brink at 3-1. Amahee Charrier rolled to a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Air Force's Isabella Flodin at No. 2, followed by Lou-Anne Guerbert's 6-1, 7-5 victory over Alexis Odom at No. 3 to give Nevada the lead. Wiem Boubaker then closed a 6-4, 6-4 win over Abby Cotuna at No. 5 to put the Pack a victory from the match.

But Air Force answered with straight-sets wins at Nos. 1 and 6 to even it at 3-3, with Arianna Van Houwelin coming back from a set down against Nevada's Audrey Moutama to take the match-tying 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 6.

All eyes turned to No. 4, where Campino took the second set, 6-1, to even the match with Swift. The two traded blows throughout a marathon deciding set, sending it to the tiebreaker, then needing extra points there before Swift won the deciding eighth point to deliver the match for Air Force (10-8, 6-1 MW).

Nevada looks to earn a split of the weekend Saturday morning, taking on New Mexico at 10 a.m.
