FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Nevada concluded NCAA Zone E championship Wednesday afternoon. Divers
Melissa Mirafuentes and
Laura Isabel Vazquez Lopez will represent the Pack in the NCAA Championship.Â
Vazquez and Mirafuentes qualified in the platform event after a seventh-place finish, with a score of 528.60 points, and eighth place, with 517.70 points.Â
Both divers also made appearances in the 3-meter and 1-meter springboard. Mirafuentes picked 11th place in the 3-meter with a score of 588.45 and a 10th place finish in the 1-meter with a 552.60. Vazquez finished right behind Mirafuentes in the 3-meter with 582.90 points, while the Guadalajara, Mexico native placed 13th (540.45 points) in the 1-meter.Â
Bailey Heydra also represented the Pack in the 3-meter and 1-meter springboard. Heydra finished in ninth place with 593.30 points in the 3-meter and 16th in the 1-meter with 527.45 points.Â
Vazquez and Mirafuentes will join
Benedict Nagy in the championships March 15-18 at Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
