Box Score SAN JOSE, Calif. - Friday night's series opener between Nevada and San José State remains incomplete and will be resumed Saturday afternoon.
The result of Friday's game was 5-4 to San José State, but Nevada's head coach Linda Garza successfully protested an ineligible San José State player in the lineup upon the Spartans' game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh.
By rule, the game will revert to the point before the protested player's at-bat, in the bottom of the seventh, with two runners on base and one out. The game will resume Saturday at 3 p.m.
Haylee Engelbrecht went two for two in the offense with a double in the top of the first and drove Chelie Senini and Gabby Herrera across the board. Engelbrecht also scored her fourth home run of the season in the top of the third to put the Pack up 4-0.
Senini also tallied one hit and one stolen base for the Pack. Herrera and Bridgette Gilliano also recorded a stolen base for the Pack.
San José State responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and a single run in the bottom of the fifth to put the score 4-3. In the bottom of the seventh, the Spartans scored two runs to take the game to a 5-4 score.
