RENO, Nev. – Nevada volleyball falls to the Boise State Broncos 3-0 Thursday evening at Virginia Street Gym.

Koen Makaula registered a hitting percentage of .417 with four blocks.
Bella Snyder also recorded four blocks on the match, marking her 100
th block of the season. Kia Kaohelaulii earned three service aces all coming from the first set while also registering 12 digs, putting her at third all-time in Nevada single season digs. Kaohelaulii is now only one dig behind second all-time.

After the Pack started things off with a 2-1 lead, the Broncos answered back with a 2-0 scoring run to go up 6-4. Back-to-back kills from McLaughlin and Schwartz tied things up at 6-6 a piece, but another two-point scoring run by Boise State put them back up by two with kills by Breanna Mitchell and Chey Day. Four points in a row for Nevada put them up by three to force a Boise State timeout. Kaohelaulii recorded three service errors to contribute to the Pack's 13-10 lead. Coming back from the timeout, Nevada and Boise State traded two points each, but Nevada still took control of their three-point lead, going up 16-13. Two errors and a kill from Chey put three points on the scoreboard for the Broncos to tie the set 16-16 before a service ace from Elle Cotton put Boise State up by one point. The Broncos took control by two points 19-17 to force Nevada to call timeout. Kills from Schwartz and Liilii along with two errors put Nevada up by one as Boise State called their final timeout of the set. After the timeout, the Broncos took the next three points on a scoring run to go up once again by two, 23-21 as Nevada called their final timeout. The squads traded points coming back from the timeout, but it would be Paige Bartsch's kill to end the set 25-22 putting the Broncos up 1-0.

Setting things up in their favor early, the Broncos took a 5-2 lead in the second set. The Pack were only to put one more point up on the scoreboard to Boise State's four points as the Broncos extended their lead 9-3 before Nevada called their first timeout of the set. After the timeout, it was all Boise State as they scored four more points to Nevada's one, extending their lead by nine. The Wolf Pack started to find a spark, shortening the Broncos' lead to just seven after back-to-back kills from Makaula, a service ace by McLaughlin, and a kill from Liilii. Nevada called their final timeout of the set after a 3-0 scoring run by the Broncos extended their lead to nine points. The Pack ran down the Broncos lead to just six, but Boise State passed the 20-point landmark with two kills in row from Bartsch and two attack errors called on Nevada, coming one point away from set point. Another attack error and a service error secured the second set for the Broncos 25-14, going up 2-0 on the match.

The Pack came out firing to start the third, going up 4-1 over the Broncos. Boise State answered back, tying the set at 7-7 a piece. Nevada and Boise State traded three points each before the Broncos scored three points in a row to go up 13-10. Boise State went up by six before McLaughlin and Snyder put much needed points on the board for Nevada with a kill and a service ace, shortening Boise State's lead to four. Two kills from Anabel Kotzakov and Day gave the Broncos their six-point lead back before Nevada called timeout. Returning from the timeout, Boise State reached 20 points on a service ace followed by a kill from Bartsch. The Broncos reached set point, after back-to-back kills, but Makaula kept hope alive for the Pack with a kill to shorten the lead to eight points, but a final kill from Kaminski solidified the set 25-16 and the match sweep 3-0.
