Prior to Saturday's match, Utah State clinched the Mountain West regular season title and will be the number one seed heading into the Mountain West Championships that begin next week.

The Aggies started with a 2-0 scoring run. A kill followed by a service ace from Utah State's Tatum Stall and Shelby Capllonch put Utah State up 4-2 before the Pack answered back with two of their own to tie things at 4-4. The Aggies extended their lead by six on a 5-1 scoring run, going up 12-6 to force a Wolf Pack timeout. Coming back from the timeout, the Aggies put up three more, leading 15-6 as Nevada took their second timeout of the set. The Pack managed to put six more points on the board, but the Aggies inched closer and closer to reaching set point, extending their lead by 11, 23-12. Securing the set, a final point from Stall gave Utah State the 25-12 set win and 1-0 match lead.

An early attack error called on Utah State's Leah Wilton-LaBoy gave Nevada their first point of the second set. The Aggies started to separate themselves with a 8-4 lead, but a service error on the Aggies followed by a kill from Makaula put Nevada within two. The Pack came within one after a clutch kill from Liilii to bring the score to 9-8 before Utah State tacked on four points to lead 13-8. Nevada continued to battle to answer the Aggies' scoring run, but they fired back continuously, allowing a 19-11 lead as the set reached the midway point. After a called Nevada timeout, the Aggies scored four more points to the Pack's one, putting them two points away from securing the set. The second set concluded in similar fashion as the first, with Utah State's Kelsey Watson kill on a 5-0 scoring run gave the Aggies the 25-12 victory.

The teams traded two attack errors each, but the points came out in the Aggie's favor, putting the squad up 21-18 before Nevada called timeout.
