Nevada women's basketball back home to face Pepperdine Friday

RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's basketball returns to Lawlor Events Center for a two-game homestand starting Friday, facing Pepperdine at 6:30 p.m.

Friday's game will be available to watch on Mountain West Network and available to listen on KPLY 630 AM. Emmy award-winning broadcaster Larry Burnett will be on the radio play-by-play once again for Nevada women's basketball, where fans can also listen online through the Varsity Network.

Friday will be Wolves Den Challenge, where students will receive free admission and have the opportunity to win prizes during the game.

SWEET STEALS
Nevada women's basketball has made getting steals and forcing turnovers a part of their early identity. The Pack are currently third in the nation in steals, averaging 20 steals per game. Nevada is also sixth in the nation in turnovers forced per game with 28 per game and 10th in turnover margin with an average of 14. The 23 steals on Nov. 9 are the fourth-most by a Wolf Pack squad in a single game in the NCAA Era.

AWESOME AUDREY
Audrey Roden, a member of the 2021-22 Mountain West All-Freshman Team, returns to Nevada for her junior season. She started the season by registering her fifth career 20-point game by dropping 21 in the season opener Nov. 9. As a sophomore, Roden finished in the top 20 in the Mountain West in scoring average in conference games. The West Linn, Oregon, native scored in double figures 15 times in 2022-23, including three 20-point outings. She also became the third Nevada sophomore to reach 500 career points under head coach Amanda Levens

CLUTCH CLAIRE
Nevada added more scoring in its arsenal in two-time All-Atlantic 10 player Claire Jacobs (La Salle). Prior to being La Salle's leading scorer this past year, Jacobs reached the 1,000-point milestone during the 2021-22 season. She became the 27th player in program history to score 1,000 points and the third-fastest La Salle student-athlete to hit that mark. In addition to ranking 11th in the Atlantic 10 in 3-point field goals per game (1.8), she scored 10.3 points per game en route to second team All-Big 5 honors.

WELCOMING THE CHALLENGE
Nevada is playing one of the toughest non-conference schedules under head coach Amanda Levens, playing three schools from Power 5 conferences. Nevada's non-conference schedule includes one 2023 NCAA Tournament team and four teams who made the WNIT last season. The Pack will also play its first game at Lawlor Events Center against a Pac 12 school since 2018 (Nov. 21 vs. Oregon).

A LONG TIME COMING
Nevada is seeking its first conference title in the NCAA Era in program history. Winning the 2024 Mountain West Championship would give the Pack their first NCAA Tournament berth in program history.

SCOUTING PEPPERDINE
Pepperdine is off to a 2-2 start after being defeated by Mountain West foe Fresno State Wednesday. Pepperdine's other loss came at the hands of conference rival New Mexico in Malibu Nov. 9. Scoring 61.3 points per game, Pepperdine has held its opponents to just 57.8 points per game.

Myra Gordon leads Pepperdine in scoring with 12.8 points per game off 47.5 percent shooting. Jane Nwaba nearly averages a double-double, scoring 10 points per game while grabbing nine rebounds per game.
