LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies completed the 3-0 sweep over Nevada volleyball Thursday evening in Logan at the Wayne Estes Center, moving the Pack to 4-12 overall and 0-5 in Mountain West play.

Individually, sophomore
Jordan Schwartz led the Pack with nine kills and zero attack errors in 17 attacks and had a hitting percentage .529. Schwartz also recorded three block solos and tallied five block assists. Sophomore
Nicanora Clarke had six block assists and nine kills.

Typically a key part of Nevada's offensive attack, the Pack failed the gain momentum behind the service line. Only one service ace in match is a season low. Meanwhile, eight service errors is a season high in three-set matches. Nevada managed to put up 12 blocks in three sets, before only having a season high of five blocks in a three-set match prior to this evening.

The Aggies lead the overall series 29-25 over Nevada, sweeping the Pack last season in their most recent meeting 3-0 at the Wayne Estes Center in Logan. Utah State currently ranks 22
nd in the RPI, marking the team as the highest-ranked in the Mountain West.

The Aggies jumped up early 7-3 over the Pack early in the first set. Service acres from Liilii and McLaughlin along with kills from Schwartz and Clarke racked up points for Nevada, but Utah State forced the Pack to call timeout after extending their lead 19-8. Coming back from the timeout, another kill from Liilii gave the Pack another point, but the Aggies continued to dominate, leading by 12 points to go up 22-10. A service error by Nevada's Kaohelaulii followed by a kill from Tatum Stall allowed Utah State to reach service point and ultimately took the match 25-11 caused by another Pack service error.

The Pack started out the second set firing back after an attack error by Utah State followed by Clarke's first service ace of the match gave Nevada the 2-0 lead. The Aggies tied things up at 3-3 before Nevada jumped up by two at 6-4 after an attack error by Kaylie Ray and a kill from Snyder. At the media timeout, Utah State was able to take the lead 15-11, going on a 5-1 run over Nevada. An assisted block by Maeva and Snyder, followed by a solo block from Snyder herself brought Nevada within three points, but the Aggies put another point on the board by a kill from Ray to go up by four, 19-15. Utah State forced Nevada to call timeout after a service error by the Pack's Clarke and an attack error by Liilii put the Aggies up by three 22-19. After a hard-fought battle from the Pack to start things off, Utah State took the second set 25-21 after two back-to-back kills by the Aggies followed by a bad set from Nevada allowed them to go up 2-0 on the match.

Looking to keep the Aggies from getting the sweep, the Pack started off the third set tying things up at 3-3 a piece from Schwartz's seventh kill of the evening. Back-to-back kills by Utah State's Shelby Capllonch put the Aggies up by three 9-6 as Nevada called another timeout early in the set. The Pack came within one after a 3-0 run with three kills by Liilii, Clarke, and Schwartz set Nevada up to continue to close the Aggies lead. Answering back, Utah State forced another called Nevada timeout, extending their lead 19-13. Nevada continued to battle, cutting the Aggies' lead by four, but it was all Utah State as they won the third set 25-20 to complete the sweep 3-0 over the Pack.
