Laura Isabel Vazquez Lopez claimed Mountain West Swimmer and Diver of the Week as announced on Tuesday morning.
Samula won all breaststroke events during the weekend against UNLV and New Mexico. The Lublin, Poland native won the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 1:04.31, and the 200 breaststroke, with a time of 2:21.01. Samula was also a member of the 200 medley relay that won, with a time of 1:43.57.
In the meet against New Mexico, Samula finished the 100 breaststroke in first place with a 1:05.15. The senior was also a member of the 200 medley relay that finished first with a time of 1:45.40.
Vazquez Lopez helped Nevada secure a win for Nevada in the 3-meter and second place in the 1-meter against UNLV. The senior scored 357.53 points in the 3-meter and 299.48 in the 1-meter.
Against New Mexico, the Guadalajara, Mexico native earned a win in the 1-meter, with a score of 325.28 points. Vazquez Lopez also secured second place in the 3-meter, with 369.75 points.
