SUN VALLEY, Idaho – Nevada wrapped up the final day of the Western Region Elite with Jeger Halbjoerhus and
Ulrik Danielsen finishing second and third in the men's slalom to seal the double-podium finish for the Pack Sunday.
"The first races of the season are always a challenge, but we showed some strong performances, and we were competitive with other racers, which is a good confidence booster for the athletes," said head coach Mihaela Kosi. "I'm pleased with their race approach in such difficult snow conditions and we're looking forward to the beginning of competition against teams in our conference."Â

Halbjoerhus's 46.59 led the charge for the Nevada men, the third-fastest run in the field and securing a spot in the top three after the first run. His overall time of 1:35.77 was only five tenths away from first place. Danielsen was able to make a comeback after his first run (48.31) put him in 11
th place. His second run (48.03) was the fastest in the field, which allowed him to jump up just behind Halbjoerhus in 1:36.34.

On the women's side,
Sixtine Piccard placed 11
th in the women's giant slalom, jumping up two spots to secure her finish after clocking 1:04.17 in her second run, the eighth fastest in the race.

The Pack will continue the season in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Westminster Invitational January 26-27, where both the men and women will compete in slalom.
