Nevada back on the road, takes on New Mexico Wednesday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Nevada women's basketball goes back on the road to take on New Mexico on Wednesday at 6 p.m. PT.

Larry Burnett will have the call on 94.1 FM and 1450 AM, with a 20 minute pregame show prior to tipoff. Fans can also listen live online through the Varsity Network. The game will be available to watch on the Mountain West Network and live stats can be accessed through Stat Broadcast.

Nevada is undefeated this season when it holds its opponents to under 60 points. The Pack held San Jose State to 47 points on Dec. 29, the lowest point total by a Nevada opponent in a conference opener since the Pack joined a league in the NCAA Era. They held Air Force to 59 points on Jn. 7.

Nevada has had one fourth of its 2022-23 roster register at least one career 20-point outing. Most recently, graduate student Megan Ormiston has scored over 20 points in two out of her last four outings. She registered a career-high 26 points on Dec. 11 against Santa Clara and dropped 21 points in the Pack's next game on Dec. 17 against Oregon State. Guards Audrey Roden and Victoria Davis have also captured games with at least 20 points.

Nevada was predicted to finish sixth in the conference, accumulating 142 points in voting by the Mountain West coaches. It was Nevada's highest preseason predicted order of finish under head coach Amanda Levens. Defending Mountain West champions UNLV were predicted to finish first in the conference, receiving 26 first place votes. New Mexico, who received the final two first place votes, was predicted to finish second in the conference.

SCOUTING NEW MEXICO
New Mexico is looking to bounce back after dropping its last two Mountain West games on the road. The Lobos currently rank in the top five in scoring offense, offensive rebounds and offensive field goal percentage.

Shaiquel McGruder has been a force for New Mexico this season, averaging 15.3 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game. The twin sister duo of LaTascya and LaTora Duff has also helped the Lobos excel this season. LaTascya is averaging 12.6 points per game while LaTora is averaging almost 10 points per game.
