This Week in Wolf Pack Athletics

RENO, Nev. - Nevada Football, Soccer, and Volleyball each went undefeated in their competition last weekend, and will aim to keep the momentum going this week. Catch where to find all of the action below.

Here's where Wolf Pack fans can find and follow all of the action this weekend!

FOOTBALL

Nevada Football looks for its second 3-0 start to a season in three years, and its third since 2010, when it hosts Incarnate Word Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

The Pack (2-0) is coming off of a 38-14 victory over Texas State in Saturday's home opener. The defense was at its best again, making four takeaways (two INT, two fumbles), with Bentlee Sanders being named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week for his two-interception, five-tackle, one-forced fumble performance which included a 34-yard pick-six.

Saturday's game will be the Pack's last home game of the month, as Nevada will next be at Mackay Stadium Friday, Oct. 7, against Colorado State.

VOLLEYBALL
Nevada volleyball continues the season on the road as they travel to Berkeley, Calif. for the Cal tournament. The Pack is set to face Tennessee State and Utah Tech Friday, Sept. 9, and the host team Saturday, Sept. 10.

Nevada is coming out of an undefeated weekend at the Gonzaga tournament. Kayla Afoa, Kia Kaohelaulii, and Gabby McLaughlin were selected All-Tournament team. McLaughlin was also selected MVP of the weekend.

The squad claimed all weekly Mountain West honors as outside hitter Afoa was named Offensive Player of the Week, libero Kaohelaulii Defensive Player of the Week, and outside hitter McLaughlin Freshman of the Week.

SOCCER
Nevada women's soccer is coming off its strongest performance of the season, defeating Sacramento State 3-0 in Sunday's home opener at Mackay Stadium. The Pack defeated its opponent by three goals for the first time since the 2010 season and won its home opener at Mackay Stadium for the first time since 2016. 

Senior midfielder Luz Arreaga scored two goals and registered an assist for five points in Sunday's match, the first time since 2006 a Nevada player recorded five or more points in a match. Arreaga earned Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honors and was recognized by TopDrawerSoccer as one of the top 10 weekly performers in the country. Sophomore forward Emily Rich dished out three assists on Sunday, becoming the first player in Nevada women's soccer to record three assists in a match.

The Pack go back on the road to continue non-conference, taking on New Mexico State on Friday at 6 p.m. and UTEP on Sunday at 12 p.m. New Mexico State is 2-2-1, winners of their last two matches. UTEP is currently 2-4 and is coming off a 3-1 victory over Mountain West foe Wyoming on Sunday.
