RENO, Nev. - Diver Bailey Heydra finished her competition at FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Heydra represented her native country, South Africa, in the 1-meter springboard and finished in 34th place, with a score of 200.45. 

"I honestly just really enjoyed every moment," says Heydra. "I love competing, there is such a rush and the feeling after you do a good dive is just incredible. I'm really happy with how most dives went, there were two that were maybe not my best, but it was an amazing experience." 

This FINA World Championship was the first major international competition that our rising sophomore has competed in. 

"I have learned a lot competing against the best divers in the world and gained a lot of experience. I am excited to take that knowledge and grow as a diver. I am excited about future events and determined to keep improving and becoming a better diver"

Bailey will return to the Pack for the 2022-2023 season, looking to defend her Mountain West champion title in the 1-meter springboard.
