RENO, Nev. -Â Nevada Men's Basketball will open the 2022 Cayman Islands Classic Monday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. PT against Tulane. The bracket for the Nov. 21-23 event was announced Wednesday morning.
Eight teams will compete in the tournament, with all games held at John Gray Gymnasium.
Nevada's opening-round contest with Tulane tips off the night session on the tournament's first day, followed by Rhode Island-Kansas State at approximately 4:30 p.m. PT. The winners will face off Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 4:30 p.m. PT, with the losers of the two opening-day games meeting at 2 p.m. PT.
The other half of the bracket makes up Nov. 21's morning session, with LSU-Illinois State opening the draw at 8 a.m. PT with Western Kentucky-Akron at 10:30 a.m. PT.
All teams will play three games, with the final day's contests set for 8 a.m. (Seventh Place), 10:30 a.m. (Fifth Place), 2 p.m. (Third Place), and 4:30 p.m. (Championship Game).
Nevada was originally scheduled to play in the 2020 Cayman Islands Classic, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Wolf Pack has won three-straight MTE titles under head coach
Steve Alford, most recently the 2021 Crossover Classic last November in Sioux Falls, S.D.
